Mario Hamuy, Carnegie Observatories, reports that a spectrum (range 380-930 nm) of SN 2003bj, obtained on Mar. 02.30 UT by Miguel Roth and Nidia Morrell with the Las Campanas Dupont 2.5-m telescope (+ WFCCD), shows that this is a young Type II supernova characterized by a blue continuum with incipient H alpha and H beta P-Cygni lines and a well defined He I 587.6 nm line.
